IU Indy at Robert Morris

Preview: IU Indy Jaguars at Robert Morris Colonials

CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (Interstat) — A quick rematch with potential Horizon League tournament seeding implications is set for Wednesday when the Robert Morris Colonials host the IU Indy Jaguars at the Charles L. Sewall Center.

The matchup comes just 13 days after the teams played an overtime thriller in Indianapolis, with IU Indy (6-16, 2-9 Horizon) escaping with a 96-93 victory on Jan. 15. Robert Morris (13-9, 6-5) will look to defend its home court and even the season series.

The Colonials, who have lost two of their last three, are led by forward DeSean Goode. He scored 20 points in the first meeting and is averaging a double-double over his last five games, including a 17-point, 12-rebound performance in a 71-67 loss to Green Bay on Jan. 24. Robert Morris is 8-3 at home this season.

IU Indy enters with momentum from a 103-85 road win at Oakland on Jan. 21, its highest offensive output and most lopsided victory of the conference season. Guard Finley Woodward keyed that win with 22 points and nine assists. Over the last two weeks, Woodward has been the engine for the Jaguars, averaging 14.4 points and 7.1 assists in his last seven contests.

Despite their overall record, the Jaguars have shown they can compete with the league’s middle tier, with both Horizon wins coming against Robert Morris and Oakland. Containing Goode inside and replicating their recent offensive efficiency will be critical for IU Indy to secure a rare road win.

Robert Morris seeks to stabilize its position in the upper half of the league standings and avenge its earlier overtime loss. The Colonials’ ability to control the paint and improve late-game execution, which faltered in the first matchup, will be the focal point.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST Wednesday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
