ELON, N.C. (Interstat) — Andrej Shoshkikj scored 17 points to lead Stony Brook to a 72-68 victory over Elon in a Colonial Athletic Association men’s basketball game Saturday at Schar Center. The Seawolves, who never trailed in the second half, used a 13-of-33 performance from 3-point range to secure the road win. Elon’s Chandler Cuthrell matched Shoshkikj with 17 points. The Phoenix had a chance to tie in the final seconds, but a 3-point attempt missed. Stony Brook improved to 14-9 overall, while Elon fell to 13-10. The result was an upset based on pregame odds, as Elon had been a 4.5-point favorite.
