Cal State Fullerton at UC Davis
DAVIS, Calif. (Interstat) — A pair of Big West teams trending in opposite directions will meet Thursday when the UC Davis Aggies host the Cal State Fullerton Titans at The Pavilion at ARC.
The Aggies (9-7) look to rebound on their home floor after a 78-84 road loss at Cal Poly last Saturday snapped a two-game win streak. UC Davis has been strong at home this season, including conference wins over Cal State Northridge and a nonconference rout of Pacific Union.
Meanwhile, the Titans (8-10) arrive with momentum, having won their last two games. They are coming off an 86-79 home victory over Cal State Northridge, where they shot 50% from the field. Prior to that, they secured an 88-71 road win at UC San Diego.
The matchup features two of the conference’s top scorers. Cal State Fullerton is led by guard Christian Williams, who is averaging 16.2 points per game. Williams has been on a hot streak, scoring 21 and 22 points in the team’s last two victories. For UC Davis, guard Nils Cooper provides a versatile threat, averaging 14.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists. He posted 18 points and five assists in the loss to Cal Poly.
UC Davis holds a slight edge in the standings and will aim to leverage its home-court advantage. The Aggies’ offense has shown potency, scoring 93 points in a win at UC Santa Barbara last week. Cal State Fullerton will counter with an offense that has eclipsed 85 points in three of its last four games, though its defense has been inconsistent.
The game is the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams this season. They will meet again in Fullerton on Feb. 19.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. PST on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026.
