Brown at Penn
PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — Ivy League play resumes Saturday at The Palestra as the Penn Quakers host the Brown Bears, with both teams looking to rebound from narrow conference-opening losses.
The matchup, set for Jan. 10, 2026, features two squads seeking consistency. Penn (7-7) enters at .500 after a heartbreaking 78-76 road loss at Princeton on Monday. The Quakers have shown resilience, with four of their seven losses coming by four points or fewer, including defeats to Rutgers and George Mason.
Brown (5-8) arrives in Philadelphia following a 70-53 home loss to Yale on Monday. The Bears’ season has been marked by volatility, sandwiching a 105-47 rout of Johnson & Wales between a 17-point loss to Yale and an earlier 86-79 defeat at Providence.
A key battle will feature two of the league’s top guards. Penn will rely on Ethan Roberts, who scored 19 points and dished four assists in the near-upset of Princeton. He has been a steadying force for the Quakers’ offense.
Brown will counter with Landon Lewis, who leads the Bears. He scored 16 points against Yale and was explosive in limited minutes against JWU, pouring in 19 points in just 18 minutes of action. His backcourt mate, Adrian Uchidiuno, added 14 points in the loss to the Bulldogs.
Penn holds the home-court advantage in one of college basketball’s most historic venues. The Quakers have been strong at The Palestra this season, posting a 5-2 record, including wins over Saint Joseph’s and Lafayette.
For Brown, finding offensive support for Lewis will be critical. Jeremiah Jenkins, who had 10 assists against Yale, will need to facilitate against a Penn defense that has been stingy at home.
The contest opens a pivotal stretch for both teams as they navigate the Ivy League’s double-round-robin schedule. Penn faces a demanding travel weekend to Dartmouth and Harvard next, while Brown prepares to host Columbia and Cornell.
Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday at The Palestra.
