Montana State at Long Beach State

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum will meet Friday when the Montana State Bobcats face the Long Beach State 49ers at the Walter Pyramid.

Montana State (2-4) enters the non-conference men’s basketball game coming off a dominant 92-55 road victory over Nobel on Thursday. Christian King led the Bobcats with 14 points, while Patrick McMahon and Waka Mbatch added 12 and 13 points, respectively. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Montana State, which includes narrow losses to Boise State and Denver.

Long Beach State (1-4) also routed Nobel in its last outing, winning 87-54 at home on Wednesday. Shaquil Bender and Christian Jones were key contributors in that victory. The 49ers’ lone win of the season, however, is sandwiched between four defeats, all by double-digit margins.

Despite Long Beach State holding the home-court advantage, statistical models favor the visiting Bobcats. Interstat’s ELO system projects Montana State with a 65.60 percent probability to win.

The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. PST tip-off at the Walter Pyramid.
