Prokhorkin’s Two Goals Lead Avangard Past Spartak in KHL

MOSCOW (Interstat) — Nikolai Prokhorkin scored twice and Konstantin Okulov added a goal and two assists as Avangard Omsk defeated Spartak Moscow 4-1 in a Kontinental Hockey League game Monday at Luzhniki Minor Arena.

Prokhorkin’s second-period goals, both assisted by Okulov, broke open a tight game after Okulov opened the scoring in the first. Ivan Igumnov also scored for Avangard. Daniil Gutik netted the lone goal for Spartak late in the third period.

Goaltender Nikita Serebryakov made 17 saves for the win. Avangard improved its overall record to 41-19, while Spartak fell to 32-29. The result closely matched a pregame statistical projection favoring Avangard.
