CSKA Moscow at Spartak Moscow

MOSCOW (Interstat) — The latest chapter in the storied Moscow derby unfolds Tuesday when Spartak hosts CSKA in a Kontinental Hockey League matchup at Luzhniki Minor Arena.

The cross-town rivals last met on Sept. 16, with Spartak (10-9) claiming a 6-5 shootout victory on the road. Both teams enter this contest on winning notes from Sunday. Spartak defeated HC Sochi 5-3, powered by a two-goal performance from Nathan Todd and a three-point afternoon (one goal, two assists) from Mikhail Maltsev. CSKA (9-9) edged Amur Khabarovsk 2-1, with goaltender Dmitry Gamzin making 32 saves and forwards Ivan Drozdov and defenseman Nikita Nesterov each scoring.

CSKA has won three of its last four games, showing improved form after a rocky start to the season. Spartak has been inconsistent, following a 7-6 shootout win over Red Star Kunlun with a 5-0 shutout loss to Dynamo Moscow before its Sunday victory.

The game is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025.
