Red Star Kunlun at Dinamo Minsk

MINSK Belarus (Interstat) — The Shanghai Dragons look to continue their strong start when they visit Dinamo Minsk in a Kontinental Hockey League matchup Friday at Minsk-Arena.

Shanghai (9-7-0) enters the contest with momentum having won four of its last five games. The Dragons are coming off a 6-7 shootout loss to Spartak Moscow on Tuesday. In their last meeting with Dinamo Minsk on Oct. 9 the Dragons secured a 3-2 victory. Key performers from that win included goaltender Zach Fucale who stopped 25 shots and forward Stanislav Galiyev who scored two goals.

Dinamo Minsk (7-6-0) is looking to build on a 4-0 road shutout of Lada Togliatti on Wednesday. The win provided a bounce-back after a 5-3 loss to CSKA Moscow earlier in the week. The team has been inconsistent mixing decisive wins with narrow losses.

The game is a rematch of the Oct. 9 contest suggesting a tightly played affair is likely. Shanghai will rely on its recent winning form while Dinamo Minsk will aim to use its home ice advantage to level the season series.

Following this game Shanghai begins a five-game road trip at Severstal Cherepovets on Sunday. Dinamo Minsk continues its homestand against HC Sochi on Tuesday.
