Dynamo Moscow at Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod
NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Russia (Interstat) — The Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod look to rebound from their first regulation loss in nearly a month when they host Dynamo Moscow in a Kontinental Hockey League matchup Sunday at Trade Union Sport Palace.
Torpedo (7-3-0) saw a four-game winning streak snapped in a 5-3 home loss to Severstal Cherepovets on Friday. Despite the defeat, forward Alexei Kruchinin remained a key offensive contributor, scoring a goal and adding two assists in the contest.
The home team has enjoyed a strong start to the season, winning five of its last seven games. They will face a quick turnaround, hosting Metallurg Magnitogorsk on Tuesday.
Dynamo (5-5-0) arrives after a 3-2 shootout victory over Traktor Chelyabinsk on Thursday. Forward Devin Brosseau scored a goal in the win, helping his team snap a two-game skid. The Moscow-based club has been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses over its last five contests.
The game marks the first meeting of the season between the two clubs. Dynamo will continue a busy stretch with a home game against Salavat Yulaev Ufa on Wednesday.
