Red Star Kunlun at Admiral Vladivostok
VLADIVOSTOK, Russia (Interstat) — Two teams looking to build on strong recent performances will meet Wednesday when the Shanghai Dragons visit Admiral Vladivostok in a Kontinental Hockey League matchup at Fetisov Arena.
Both clubs enter the contest with identical 2-2-0 records, sitting on four points early in the 2025-26 season. The game is a quick rematch of their Sept. 8 meeting in Shanghai, which Admiral won 4-3 in a shootout.
Admiralsk comes in with momentum after shutting out Sibir Novosibirsk 2-0 on Monday. Forwards Semyon Koshelev, Kyle Olson and Ivan Muranov were the most productive players in that victory for the home side. Prior to that win, Admiral had dropped two straight, a 2-1 shootout loss to Sibir and a 1-0 defeat against CSKA Moscow.
The Shanghai Dragons, officially known as Red Star Kunlun, are looking to rebound from a tough 5-4 road loss to Amur Khabarovsk on Monday, a game in which Nikita A. Popugayev, Riley Sutter and Borna Rendulic led the offensive effort. The Dragons have shown a potent attack this season, including a 7-4 win over powerhouse SKA Saint Petersburg on Sept. 6.
Statistical projections present a conflicting outlook for the contest. The Interstat game simulator predicts a narrow 2-1 victory for Shanghai. However, the same outlet’s ELO rating system gives Admiral a 56.70 percent probability of winning on home ice.
Following this contest, Admiral begins a three-game homestand, hosting Dynamo Moscow on Saturday and CSKA Moscow next Tuesday. Shanghai continues its lengthy road trip, next facing Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod on Monday before a difficult stretch against Dynamo Moscow and Lada Togliatti.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. local time (1030 GMT).
