Ávila spins complete game as Landers top Twins
INCHEON (Interstat) — Ávila threw a complete game and the Shinsegae Landers used timely hitting to beat the visiting LG Twins 7-1 on Tuesday night at Munhak Baseball Stadium. Ávila allowed one earned run on eight hits over nine innings, striking out six and walking none. He earned the win and improved to 5-1 this season. Tolhurst took the loss for LG and fell to 10-9. The announced attendance was 15,960. LG’s record dropped to 71-57-2, while Shinsegae moved to 56-69-5. The Landers, playing at home, scored in several innings and pulled away from the Twins behind a balanced offensive attack.

He had allowed one earned run over seven innings with 11 strikeouts in his previous win, and he carried that form into this start.
LG’s bullpen had some effective moments. Lee Woo-chan pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed one hit with no earned runs, one walk and one strikeout. Yi Jung-yong followed with one scoreless inning and no hits. Kim Young-woo also threw a scoreless inning, allowing one hit with one strikeout. Ko Myeong-jun hit a sacrifice fly to center that scored Choi. Kim Jae-hwan then reached on a dropped third strike to end the inning.
LG tried to rally in the eighth. Hong Chang-ki grounded out to second, but Park Hae-min singled to center. Austin Dean then singled to right-center, putting runners on the corners. The game was played during the evening and drew a crowd of 15,960 to Munhak Baseball Stadium. LG entered the game having lost two of its previous three, while Shinsegae had also been searching for consistency. The Landers had dropped their previous two games before the win on Tuesday.
