BUSAN, South Korea (Interstat) — Sam Hilliard hit a two-run homer in the first inning and the KT Wiz defeated the Lotte Giants 6-1 on Saturday evening at Busan Sajik Baseball Stadium.

KT scored three runs in the opening frame. After Hilliard’s home run, Heo Kyoung-min doubled down the left-field line, scoring Jang Sung-woo for a 3-0 lead. Kim Hyeon-su added a sacrifice fly in the sixth to extend the lead to 4-0.

Lotte got on the board in the seventh when Jo-jo Reyes singled to center-right, scoring Go Seung-min. The Wiz added two runs in the eighth on a groundout that reached on an error by shortstop, allowing Jang Jin-hyuk to score, and an infield single by Kim Sang-su that drove in Kwon Dong-jin.

KT outhit Lotte 12-6. The Wiz improved to 53-35-2, while the Giants fell to 40-51-1. The teams meet again Sunday in the series finale.
