Shinsegae at Doosan

SEOUL (Interstat) — A rain-soaked evening is in the forecast for Wednesday as the Doosan Bears host the Shinsegae Landers at Jamsil Stadium on Wednesday at 7 p.m., with the weather expected to be 82 degrees and rainy.

Doosan (42-41-2) enters the game seeking to climb above .500, while Shinsegae (31-50-3) looks to build on a narrow victory in the series opener Tuesday.

The matchup features a quick rematch of starters from that game. Right-hander Kim Min-jun will take the mound for Shinsegae after earning the win Tuesday, throwing 6.0 innings and allowing four hits with no earned runs and six strikeouts in a 4-2 victory. In his previous four starts, Kim posted a 2.25 ERA across 20.0 innings, striking out 18 while allowing just three earned runs.

Left-hander Wes Benjamin will start for Doosan after taking the loss Tuesday, surrendering two earned runs on six hits over 5.1 innings with seven strikeouts. The veteran has been effective despite a 1-3 record over his last five starts, posting a 1.93 ERA in 29.0 innings with 32 strikeouts.

Doosan holds a 4-3 edge in the season series after seven meetings, though Shinsegae has won two of the last three, including Tuesday’s victory. The Landers have dropped eight of their last 10 overall, while the Bears have won four of their last six.

Shinsegae designated hitter Choi Jeong went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in Tuesday’s win. Reliever Jo Byeong-hyeon earned a hold with a scoreless inning.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-0 Doosan victory, and its ELO system gives the Bears a 59.20 percent probability to win.

The two teams conclude the series Thursday before Shinsegae returns home to face Kia and Doosan travels to NC.
