INCHEON, South Korea (Interstat) — Heo Kyoung-min hit a grand slam in the eighth inning to lead the KT Wiz past the Shinsegae Landers 7-3 on Saturday afternoon at Munhak Baseball Stadium. Heo finished 1 for 3 with four RBIs. Choi Won-jun went 3 for 4 for KT, which improved to 34-23-1. The Wiz scored single runs in the third, fourth and sixth before Heo’s blast capped a four-run eighth. Kim Sang-su had an RBI single in the third, and Sam Hilliard drove in a run on a walk in the sixth. Shinsegae loaded the bases in the sixth on Jeon Ui-san’s two-run homer and added a run in the seventh on Guillermo Heredia’s single. The Landers fell to 25-32-2 despite outhitting the Wiz 10-9. Attendance was 18,425. KT salvaged a split in the series after losing 6-5 on Friday. The teams meet again Sunday in the rubber match.
