Doosan at LG

SEOUL (Interstat) — The LG Twins host the Doosan Bears on Thursday night at Jamsil Stadium, looking to complete a three-game series sweep and extend their early-season dominance in the Korea Baseball Organization.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. under cloudy skies with temperatures around 69 degrees.

LG (21-11-2) enters with the league’s best record, having taken the first two games of this set by scores of 6-1 and 2-1. The Twins have won four of their past five meetings against the Bears dating to April 24.

Doosan (14-18-1) has dropped two straight and five of its last seven overall.

Players to watch

Bears shortstop Park Chan-ho provided the only offense in Wednesday’s 6-1 loss, going 3 for 4 with a home run and an RBI. It was his third homer in his past 11 games, but he has struggled for consistency, batting 0 for 4 in Tuesday’s defeat.

Twins right-hander Im Chan-kyu is coming off a strong outing Wednesday, allowing one earned run on six hits over six innings with five strikeouts. He has compiled a 1.55 ERA over his past three starts.

Series trends

LG has outscored Doosan 15-7 in the first two games. The Bears’ only win in the season series came April 26, a 4-3 decision in 10 innings.

Projections

Interstat’s game simulator predicts a 5-4 victory for LG. Its ELO system gives the Twins a 68.5% probability of winning.

Doosan returns home Friday to open a three-game series against Shinsegae Landers. LG visits Hanwha Eagles on Friday for a three-game set.
