SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — Im Chan-kyu pitched six strong innings and the LG Twins defeated the Doosan Bears 6-1 on Wednesday evening at Jamsil Stadium. Attendance was 23,750.

LG scored first in the second inning when Lee Jae-won homered to center, scoring Gu Bon-hyeok. The Twins added two runs in the third on a bunt single by Gu Bon-hyeok and a single by Hong Chang-ki. Song Chan-eui homered to left in the fourth.

Doosan’s lone run came in the fifth when Park Chan-ho homered to left. The Bears managed nine hits but could not mount a rally. LG finished with 11 hits.

Im Chan-kyu (2-1) allowed one earned run on six hits with five strikeouts over six innings. Choi Seung-yong (0-4) took the loss. Doosan relievers Park Chi-guk, Kim Jeong-woo, Choi Ju-hyeong and Lee Young-ha combined for 3 1/3 scoreless innings.

The win lifted LG to 21-11-2, while Doosan fell to 14-18-1. The teams play again Thursday.
