Kia at Doosan

Preview: Kia Tigers at Doosan Bears

SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — The Kia Tigers and Doosan Bears will conclude a three-game series Sunday evening at Jamsil Stadium, with the visiting Tigers looking to secure the series win after a split of the first two contests.

The Tigers (10-8) edged the Bears 7-3 on Friday before falling 5-4 in 10 innings on Saturday. Doosan (6-11) will aim to carry the momentum from its extra-inning victory into the series finale.

A compelling pitching rematch is set, featuring right-handers who opposed each other just one day prior. Kia’s Adam Oller is scheduled to start on short rest after a strong outing in Saturday’s loss. Oller took a no-decision, allowing one earned run on four hits over 6 1/3 innings with five strikeouts. He has been excellent this season, posting a 3-1 record and a 0.96 ERA over his last four starts, including two scoreless outings.

Doosan will counter with Choi Seung-yong, who also pitched Saturday. Choi earned the win, surrendering two earned runs over 6 2/3 innings. His recent form has been inconsistent, with Saturday’s quality start preceded by three losses in his prior appearances.

The Tigers’ offense has been potent, averaging over six runs per game during a recent 7-3 stretch. Third baseman Kim Do-yeong provided power in Saturday’s game with a two-run homer.

The Bears’ bullpen, which delivered 3 1/3 innings of one-run relief Saturday behind Choi, may be tested again in the series finale.

Forecasters call for clear skies and 75-degree temperatures for the first pitch.

According to Interstat, the Tigers are projected favorites with a 53.6% win probability. The outlet’s game simulator predicts a 7-3 Kia victory.

Following the game, Kia will travel to Suwon for a series against the KT Wiz beginning Tuesday. Doosan will head to Busan to face the Lotte Giants on Tuesday.
