KT Wiz Power Past NC Dinos Behind Kim’s Two Homers

CHANGWON-SI, South Korea (Interstat) — Kim Hyun-soo launched two home runs and drove in five runs, and Oh Won-seok delivered seven strong innings as the KT Wiz routed the NC Dinos 10-2 on Wednesday evening at Masan Baseball Stadium.

The Wiz (10-5) avenged a loss from the previous night in emphatic fashion, battering NC pitching for 10 hits, including four home runs, to move three games above .500. The Dinos (7-8) fell below the break-even mark, managing eight hits but failing to capitalize on opportunities against Oh and the KT bullpen.

The most important part of the game came early, as the Wiz seized control with power in the first and third innings, effectively putting the game out of reach before the Dinos could muster any offense.

Facing NC starter Shin Min-hyeok in the top of the first, KT struck quickly. After two quick outs, Ahn Hyun-min doubled to right-center. Catcher Jang Sung-woo then followed by blasting a two-run homer to left field, giving the Wiz a 2-0 lead before many of the 5,902 in attendance had settled into their seats.

Oh Won-seok set the tone from the mound, retiring the Dinos in order in the bottom of the first. The Wiz then expanded their lead in the third. After a walk to Choi Won-joon with one out, veteran slugger Kim Hyun-soo stepped up. Kim connected on a Shin offering and drove it out to right field for a two-run shot, doubling the KT advantage to 4-0.

That was more than enough for Oh Won-seok (2-1). The winning pitcher scattered six hits over his seven innings of work, allowing just one earned run. He walked none and struck out six, efficiently stifling the NC lineup. His only blemish came in the seventh inning when Park Kun-woo led off with a solo home run for the Dinos.

KT continued to pour it on against the NC bullpen. In the top of the sixth, Jang Sung-woo struck again, crushing his second two-run homer of the game, this time off reliever Lee Jun-hyeok, scoring Bae Jeong-dae who had entered as a pinch-runner. Jang finished 2 for 3 with four RBIs.

The Wiz put the game completely out of reach in the seventh. With two on and one out, Kim Hyun-soo stepped in against Lee Jun-hyeok and delivered the decisive blow. He demolished a three-run homer to right field, his second of the game and fifth and sixth RBIs of the season, pushing the score to 9-0. Kim, who had been 1 for 12 over his previous three games, broke out in a major way, finishing 2 for 4.

NC’s lone runs came in the seventh. After Park Kun-woo’s homer, Lee Woo-sung singled and Kim Whee-jip doubled him home later in the inning. Woo Kyu-min relieved Oh and allowed the RBI double but escaped further damage.

KT added a final run in the eighth on a fielder’s choice by Lee Gang-min that scored Sam Hilliard.

Shin Min-hyeok (0-1) took the loss for NC, lasting six innings but surrendering six earned runs on six hits, including three home runs. He walked one and struck out one. The Dinos’ bullpen of Lee Jun-hyeok, Chun Sa-min and others combined to allow four runs over the final three frames.

For NC, Park Kun-woo’s solo homer and Kim Whee-jip’s RBI double provided the offense. Kim went 2 for 4.

The victory allowed KT to keep pace near the top of the KBO standings, while NC continued its inconsistent start to the 2026 campaign. The two teams meet again Thursday in Changwon to conclude their three-game series.
