Preview: Doosan Bears at Shinsegae Landers
INCHEON, South Korea (Interstat) — The struggling Doosan Bears look to snap a three-game skid when they visit the Shinsegae Landers on Tuesday evening at Munhak Baseball Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature near 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 Celsius).
The Bears (4-8-1) arrive after dropping two of three over the weekend to the KT Wiz, including a 6-1 loss on Sunday. Doosan has lost seven of its last 10 contests.
The Landers (7-6-1) also seek to rebound after being swept in a three-game series by the LG Twins, capped by a 9-1 defeat Sunday.
A key matchup will feature Doosan starter Choi Seung-yong, who is seeking his first win of the season. The right-hander took the loss Sunday, allowing four earned runs over 5 1/3 innings against KT. In three starts this season, he has a 0-3 record with an 8.44 ERA.
For Shinsegae, reliever Jang Ji-hun has been a bright spot. Over his last two appearances, covering three innings, he has allowed just one hit and no runs while striking out two. He pitched two scoreless frames in Sunday’s loss.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 3-2 victory for the Landers, while its ELO rating system gives Shinsegae a 59.7% probability to win.
This game opens a three-game series between the clubs. They will meet again Wednesday and Thursday in Incheon before both embark on new series Friday.
Doosan will host the Kia Tigers for three games beginning Friday, while Shinsegae will travel to face the NC Dinos.
