Shinsegae at LG
SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — The LG Twins will look to secure a series victory over the Shinsegae Landers when the teams conclude a three-game set Sunday evening at Jamsil Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. local time under cloudy skies with temperatures around 59 degrees Fahrenheit (15 degrees Celsius).
The Twins (8-4) have taken the first two games of the series, including a 4-3 win Saturday, and hold a one-game lead over the Landers (7-5) in the early standings. LG’s offense has produced 14 runs in the series so far.
A quick rematch is on the mound, with Shinsegae right-hander Kim Keon-woo facing LG left-hander Im Chan-kyu. Both pitchers earned decisions in Saturday’s contest.
Kim (1-1, 5.28 ERA) was the hard-luck loser, allowing just one earned run on four hits over six strong innings while striking out five. He will aim for a repeat performance.
Im (2-1, 5.06 ERA) picked up the win despite being tagged for 10 hits over five innings, surrendering two earned runs. He has won his last two starts.
Shinsegae’s Kim Jae-hwan, who homered in Saturday’s loss, will be a key bat for the Landers as they try to avoid the sweep. LG’s bullpen, which delivered four scoreless innings Saturday behind Jang Hyun-sik and Kim Jin-sung, has been a strength.
According to Interstat, the Twins enter as clear favorites with a 63.2% win probability. Their game simulator projects a 6-5 victory for LG.
Following the game, the Landers return home to host the Doosan Bears for three games beginning Tuesday. The Twins will remain at Jamsil to start a series against the Lotte Giants on Tuesday.
