SEOUL (Interstat) — The Lotte Giants scored three runs in the first inning and rode a combined pitching effort to a 3-1 victory over the Kiwoom Heroes on Friday evening at Gocheok Sky Dome.

Lotte sent nine men to the plate in the opening frame, with No Jin-hyuk’s two-run single highlighting the early outburst. The Giants added insurance in the fifth on a solo home run by Jo-jo Reyes. Kiwoom’s lone run came on a fourth-inning homer from Choi Joo-hwan.

Lotte’s staff limited the Heroes to four hits. The Giants’ offense produced 11 hits in support. With the win, Lotte improved to 4-7, while Kiwoom fell to 3-8. The teams continue their series Saturday.
