Landers Outlast Giants in High-Scoring Affair
BUSAN, South Korea (Interstat) — The Shinsegae Landers survived a late push from the Lotte Giants to secure a 7-6 victory Saturday evening at Busan Sajik Baseball Stadium.
Shinsegae sent 11 batters to the plate in a explosive seven-run first inning, highlighted by Kim Seong-uk’s two-run single. Lotte responded with three runs in the bottom half, including a two-run single from Han Dong-hui, and chipped away with solo homers from Yoo Kang-nam in the second and No Jin-hyuk in the third.
The Landers’ bullpen, using six pitchers after starter Moon Seung-won, held the Giants to one run over the final six innings despite allowing the tying run to reach base in the ninth. Shinsegae tallied 14 hits to Lotte’s seven before a crowd of 23,200.
The first-place Landers improved to 6-1. The Giants fell to 2-5.
