Shinsegae Landers Seek Series Sweep of Struggling Lotte Giants
BUSAN, South Korea (Interstat) — The surging Shinsegae Landers will look to complete a series sweep when they visit the slumping Lotte Giants on Saturday afternoon at Busan Sajik Baseball Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. local time under cloudy skies with temperatures near 61 degrees Fahrenheit (16 degrees Celsius).
The Landers (5-1) have been the class of the league early, riding a potent offense to five wins in their last six games. They dismantled the Giants 17-2 on Friday night, marking their fourth victory scoring nine or more runs this season. Shortstop Park Seong-han has been a catalyst, driving in 10 runs over his last five games, including a 4-for-5, four-RBI performance in Friday’s rout.
Conversely, the Giants (2-4) are reeling, having lost four straight, including three consecutive defeats to the NC Dinos before Friday’s blowout. Their pitching staff has been battered for 46 runs during the losing skid. First baseman Han Dong-hui, who went 3 for 4 on Friday, is a rare bright spot for a lineup struggling to keep pace.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 5-2 Landers victory, while its ELO rating system gives Shinsegae a 55.3% probability to win.
The Giants will aim to salvage the final game of the series and avoid falling further in the standings before hosting the KT Wiz next week. The Landers, meanwhile, will try to maintain their momentum before returning home to face the Hanwha Eagles in a three-game set starting Tuesday.
