LG Twins Look to Even Series Against Kiwoom Heroes

SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — The LG Twins and Kiwoom Heroes, both seeking to climb out of early-season holes, will continue their series Saturday at Gocheok Sky Dome.

First pitch is scheduled for the evening. Both teams enter with identical 2-4 records.

The Heroes took the series opener Friday night, 5-2, behind a strong start from right-hander Raul Alcántara. He held the Twins to one earned run on six hits over 6 1/3 innings, striking out seven.

LG will look for a quick rebound, likely leaning on the bat of Austin Dean. The first baseman was a bright spot in Friday’s loss, going 3 for 5 with a home run and two RBIs. He is 9 for 24 (.375) with five RBIs over his last six games.

Kiwoom’s lineup will aim to provide more support for its pitching staff after a volatile start to the year. The Heroes have allowed 10 or more runs in three of their six games, including a pair of losses to the Hanwha Eagles last weekend.

According to Interstat, the Twins are heavy favorites to draw even in the series. Their game simulator projects a 5-1 LG victory, and their ELO rating system gives the Twins a 70.8% probability to win.

After Saturday’s contest, the two teams will meet again Sunday in Seoul before embarking on separate road trips. The Twins will visit the NC Dinos for a three-game set starting Tuesday, while the Heroes will travel to face the Doosan Bears.
