Hanwha at Doosan
Preview: Hanwha Eagles at Doosan Bears
SEOUL (Interstat) — The Hanwha Eagles will look to build on a potent offensive outburst when they visit the struggling Doosan Bears for the second game of their weekend series Saturday afternoon at Jamsil Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for the evening under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature near 72 degrees Fahrenheit (22 Celsius).
The Eagles (3-3) evened their record with an 11-6 road win over the Bears on Friday night, powered by a three-RBI performance from Yonathan Perlaza, who homered. Hanwha has won three of its last five, with its offense scoring 10 or more runs in three of those victories.
Perlaza, a key offseason acquisition, has been a consistent force. Over his last seven games, the outfielder is batting .429 (12-for-28) with a home run and five RBIs.
Conversely, the Bears (1-4) are seeking to halt a four-game slide. Their bullpen, which surrendered seven runs in Friday’s loss, remains a concern. A bright spot in relief was Yun Tae-ho, who pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings in the defeat.
Doosan’s early-season struggles are pronounced, having been outscored 38-22 over its last four games. The Bears’ only win came on March 29 against the NC Dinos.
According to Interstat’s projections, the Eagles are slight favorites. Their game simulator predicts a 4-3 Hanwha victory, while its ELO rating system gives the Eagles a 55% probability to win.
Following Saturday’s contest, the two teams will conclude the series Sunday at Jamsil before embarking on extended road trips. Hanwha travels to Incheon to face the Shinsegae Landers on Tuesday, while Doosan remains home to host the Kiwoom Heroes.
