Samsung Lions Rally Past Doosan Bears in Late Innings

DAEGU, South Korea (Interstat) — The Samsung Lions scored three runs in the eighth inning to erase a two-run deficit and defeat the Doosan Bears 5-2 on Thursday evening at Daegu Samsung Lions Park. A crowd of 23,617 saw the Lions improve to 2-2-1 while the Bears fell to 1-3-1.

Doosan took an early lead on a two-run homer by Daz Cameron in the second inning. Samsung starter Lee Seung-hyn allowed one earned run over five innings to keep it close. Doosan’s Choi Min-seok pitched six scoreless frames, but the Lions broke through in the eighth. Koo Ja-wook’s RBI single and Choi Hyoung-woo’s sacrifice fly tied it before Ryu Ji-hyuk’s two-run homer provided the winning margin. Samsung’s bullpen combined for four innings of one-run relief to secure the victory.
