Kia at LG
SEOUL, South Korea (Interstat) — The LG Twins will look to snap a season-opening skid when they host the Kia Tigers in the second game of a series Wednesday evening at Jamsil Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. local time under cloudy skies with a temperature near 61 degrees Fahrenheit (16 Celsius).
The Twins (0-3) are one of two winless teams in the Korea Baseball Organization after dropping their first three games, including a 7-2 loss to these same Tigers on Tuesday. The Tigers (1-2) earned their first victory behind a strong start from right-hander Adam Oller.
Oller is a player to watch again for Kia after he dominated LG just a day ago, tossing six scoreless innings with three hits allowed and three strikeouts in the win. It is unclear if he will be available out of the bullpen.
For LG, reliever Yi Jung-yong will be one to monitor. He provided two scoreless innings in Tuesday’s loss and has now pitched 3.0 innings across two appearances against Kia this week without allowing an earned run.
Both teams’ bullpens could be pivotal after Tuesday’s contest. Kia’s Kim Beom-su and LG’s Park Si-won and Lee Woo-chan all contributed scoreless relief outings.
According to Interstat, the Twins are projected as favorites with a 64.10% probability to win. Their game simulator predicts a 4-3 LG victory.
The Tigers’ offense was led Tuesday by third baseman Kim Do-yeong, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs.
After this game, the teams will conclude their series Thursday before both embark on extended homestands. Kia will host the NC Dinos for three games starting Friday, while LG will travel to face the Kiwoom Heroes for a three-game set.
