Greensboro vs. Stockton

STOCKTON, Calif. (Interstat) — A pivotal NBA G League Western Conference showdown is set for Friday when the Stockton Kings host the Greensboro Swarm at Stockton Arena.

The matchup features two of the league’s top teams battling for playoff positioning. The Swarm (38-16), the Eastern Conference leader, arrive with the G League’s best record. The Kings (35-18) are among the West’s elite and seek to avenge a narrow 111-107 road loss to Greensboro just four days prior.

That Wednesday contest saw standout performances from both sides. Greensboro’s Liam McNeeley, a player to watch, recorded a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. The rookie guard has been consistently productive, averaging 18.1 points and 7.3 rebounds over his last seven games.

Stockton’s Dexter Dennis, another key figure, scored a team-high 24 points with seven rebounds in the loss. The guard has been a reliable scorer for the Kings, reaching double figures in nine of his last ten outings.

The Swarm have won four of their last five, including a 134-121 offensive explosion at Osceola on April 5. Stockton has been strong at home and had won four straight before the loss in Greensboro, part of a stretch where they’ve won seven of their last ten.

Friday’s game will test Stockton’s home court advantage against a Greensboro team that has proven capable of winning on the road. With both teams jockeying for postseason seeding, the rematch carries increased significance. The Kings will look to leverage the home crowd and split the brief series, while the Swarm aim to solidify their status as the league’s top team with a statement road victory.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. PDT at Stockton Arena.
