College Park vs. Wisconsin

(Interstat) — In a high-octane G League shootout Monday night, the College Park Skyhawks outlasted the Wisconsin Herd 117-114 at Oshkosh Arena, avenging a loss from earlier in the season.

The game, played March 23, 2026, was defined by explosive offensive runs and a frantic final minute. The Skyhawks improved to 17-29, while the Herd fell to 13-35.

The contest featured 14 lead changes and was tied on 10 occasions, with neither team able to secure a decisive advantage until the final seconds. The most critical sequence came in the game’s closing moments. With College Park clinging to a three-point lead, Wisconsin’s Mark Sears drained a 26-foot 3-pointer with seven seconds remaining to tie the game at 114. The Skyhawks immediately called a full timeout to advance the ball.

On the ensuing inbound play, Wisconsin’s Johnny Davis committed a personal take foul, sending College Park’s RayJ Dennis to the free-throw line with seven seconds left. Dennis missed the first attempt but calmly sank the second to put the Skyhawks ahead 115-114. Wisconsin’s last chance, a 38-foot heave from Davis at the buzzer, missed the mark, and College Park secured the victory after two final free throws.

The game was a tale of contrasting halves and quarters. Wisconsin opened strong, pouring in 36 points in the first quarter to take a seven-point lead. College Park responded with a 34-point second quarter, fueled by transition baskets and interior play, to seize a 63-64 halftime advantage.

The third quarter proved pivotal, as the Skyhawks’ defense clamped down, holding the Herd to just 14 points. That defensive stand allowed College Park to build a seemingly comfortable 12-point lead heading into the final period. However, Wisconsin refused to fade, matching College Park’s 36-point fourth-quarter output behind a barrage of 3-pointers to set the stage for the dramatic finish.

Key performances underscored the back-and-forth nature of the game. For College Park, point guard RayJ Dennis orchestrated the offense with critical baskets and playmaking down the stretch. Center Isaih Moore provided a significant interior presence with timely rebounds, blocks and dunks. Keshon Gilbert added crucial perimeter defense and clutch free throws in the final seconds.

Wisconsin was led by the backcourt duo of Mark Sears and Kira Lewis, whose combined shooting and playmaking fueled the Herd’s multiple comebacks. Johnny Davis provided athletic drives and defensive energy, while John Butler offered rim protection and outside shooting.

The victory marked a measure of revenge for College Park, which had lost to Wisconsin 116-98 in Oshkosh back on Jan. 5. The Skyhawks will look to build on the win when they host Osceola on Wednesday. Wisconsin travels to face Raptors 905 on Thursday.
