Windy City vs. Birmingham

Preview: Windy City Bulls at Birmingham Squadron

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Interstat) — Two G League teams riding contrasting waves of momentum will meet Sunday when the Windy City Bulls visit the Birmingham Squadron at Legacy Arena.

The Bulls (22-25) arrive having lost three straight, including a 154-143 shootout at Capital City on Friday. Windy City’s defense has been a persistent issue, allowing an average of 140 points during the skid.

Conversely, the Squadron (19-28) have won four consecutive games, most recently a 122-106 victory over Maine on Tuesday. Birmingham’s surge has been fueled by dominant interior play.

The matchup features a compelling duel between two of the league’s most prolific performers. Windy City guard Mac McClung enters on a historic individual tear. Over his last eight games, he is averaging 36.6 points and 9.8 assists, including a 54-point outing and a 17-assist triple-double. His scoring prowess will be central to halting the Bulls’ slide.

He will be countered by Birmingham center Hunter Dickinson, who is coming off a monstrous 34-point, 27-rebound, 7-assist performance in the win over Maine. During the Squadron’s four-game win streak, Dickinson has averaged 23.5 points and 15.8 rebounds, controlling the paint on both ends.

While Birmingham holds the recent form advantage, Windy City has had the upper hand in the standings. The teams will reconvene at Legacy Arena just two days after Sunday’s contest, on Tuesday, March 24.

Tip-off is scheduled for Sunday, March 22, 2026. The game will be a test of whether McClung’s explosive offense can penetrate Birmingham’s newfound confidence and Dickinson’s interior command, or if the Squadron’s hot streak will continue at home.
