Greensboro vs. Westchester

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (Interstat) — In a high-octane G League shootout where defense was often optional, the Westchester Knicks outlasted the Greensboro Swarm 141-131 on Sunday at Westchester County Center.

The game turned on a dominant second-quarter surge by the home team. After a tightly contested first period that ended with Greensboro leading 41-38, Westchester seized control with a 40-point second quarter, overwhelming the Swarm’s 27-point effort to take a 78-68 halftime lead. The Knicks extended their advantage in the third, leading by as many as 22 points, entering the final period up 117-95.

Greensboro mounted a furious comeback in the fourth quarter, outscoring Westchester 36-24. The Swarm’s rally, fueled by Antonio Reeves and Liam McNeeley, cut a 22-point deficit to as few as six points in the final minutes. However, the Knicks, who had built their large lead on the strength of efficient perimeter shooting and transition play, made enough key stops and free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

The result was an upset according to pregame projections and contrasted sharply with the teams’ season trajectories. Greensboro, the league’s second-best team, fell to 33-14. Westchester, near the bottom of the standings, improved to 13-33.

Westchester’s offense was orchestrated by point guard Tyler Kolek, whose playmaking and scoring were pivotal. He consistently broke down the Swarm defense, creating open looks for teammates and hitting timely shots himself. Forward Pacome Dadiet provided a versatile scoring punch, attacking the rim and stretching the floor. The Knicks’ ball movement was exceptional, leading to numerous high-percentage shots and a season-high point total.

For Greensboro, rookie forward Liam McNeeley showcased a polished offensive game, scoring from all three levels. Shooting guard Antonio Reeves caught fire late, raining in a series of difficult three-pointers to spearhead the fourth-quarter charge that ultimately fell short. The Swarm’s early deficit proved too large to overcome despite their persistent effort.

The most important sequence of the game occurred late in the second quarter when Westchester transformed a close contest into a double-digit halftime lead. A 15-4 run, featuring three-pointers from Dink Pate and T.J. Warren and relentless penetration by Kolek and Dillon Jones, broke open a 63-64 game. This stretch established the momentum and cushion that Greensboro spent the entire second half trying to erase.

The Knicks next play at Long Island on Tuesday. The Swarm travel to face Motor City on Wednesday.
