Greensboro vs. Westchester
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (Interstat) — A clash between G League extremes is set for Sunday when the soaring Greensboro Swarm visit the struggling Westchester Knicks at Westchester County Center.
The Swarm (33-13) enter as one of the league’s top teams, having won eight of their last 10 games. They are coming off a 111-107 home victory over Noblesville on Wednesday. In contrast, the Knicks (12-33) own the league’s worst record and are mired in a slump, losing five of their last six, including a 129-98 defeat to College Park at home on Saturday.
Greensboro has dominated the season series, winning all three matchups. Most recently, the Swarm beat the Knicks 123-111 on Jan. 15.
The game features a compelling individual matchup between two of the league’s most productive players. Greensboro center P.J. Hall has been on a historic tear, recording a double-double in 10 consecutive games. Over that dominant stretch, he is averaging 20.6 points and 12.5 rebounds. He posted 21 points and 11 rebounds in Wednesday’s win.
Westchester will counter with guard Kevin McCullar, who is coming off a spectacular all-around performance in a loss Thursday. He tallied 28 points, 11 assists and five blocks against College Park. In his last five games, McCullar is averaging 22.2 points and 8.8 assists.
The Swarm’s high-powered offense, which has scored 127 or more points in four of its last five wins, will test a Westchester defense that has allowed an average of 124.8 points during its five losses in six games.
Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. EDT Sunday.
