Cleveland vs. Maine

Preview: Cleveland Charge at Maine Celtics

PORTLAND, Maine (Interstat) — The Cleveland Charge (29-16) visit the Maine Celtics (24-23) in a G League matchup Sunday at the Portland Exposition Building, with both teams looking to build momentum for the final stretch of the season.

Cleveland enters with the stronger overall record but is coming off a high-scoring 141-124 home loss to Delaware on Wednesday. The Charge had won six of seven prior to that defeat, a run fueled by elite playmaking from guard Darius Brown. Over his last eight games, Brown has averaged 14.9 points and 11.3 assists, recording a triple-double and five games with 14 or more assists. He will be the focal point of Cleveland’s offense.

Maine has dropped two straight, including a 122-106 loss at Birmingham on Tuesday. Forward Kendall Brown has been a consistent performer, scoring 24 points in that contest and averaging 13.0 points and 5.9 rebounds over his last eight appearances. The Celtics will need a strong two-way effort from him to counter Cleveland’s backcourt.

The Charge boast one of the league’s most potent offenses, having scored 124 or more points in nine of their last ten outings. Center Sy Chatman (23 points vs. Delaware) and guard Sean McNeil (21 points) provide key scoring support. Maine’s defense, which allowed 144 points in a one-point loss to Birmingham on March 16, will be tested.

This game is the first of a two-game set between the teams in Portland, with a rematch scheduled for Tuesday. A win would help the Celtics climb back to .500, while the Charge aim to solidify their playoff positioning.

Tip-off is set for Sunday, March 22, 2026.
