Mexico City vs. Sioux Falls

Preview: Capitanes Seek Revenge Against Skyforce in G League Rematch

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Interstat) — The Sioux Falls Skyforce will look to complete a dominant two-game home sweep when they host the Mexico City Capitanes in a G League matchup Saturday at the Sanford Pentagon.

The teams met just one night prior, with the Skyforce (26-21) delivering a commanding 131-89 victory over the Capitanes (26-18). Sioux Falls will aim to replicate that performance, while Mexico City is tasked with a swift turnaround to avoid a second straight lopsided loss.

A key storyline will be the backcourt battle featuring Sioux Falls’ high-scoring guard Josh Christopher. He enters on a torrid offensive stretch, averaging 28.3 points over his last eight games. That includes a 49-point outburst on March 1 and a 30-point, 13-rebound effort in an overtime loss to Stockton on March 13. Containing Christopher will be a primary focus for a Mexico City defense that allowed 131 points Friday.

For the Capitanes, forward Jordan Minor provides an interior presence. He is coming off a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in Friday’s loss, and had a 26-point, 9-rebound game in a win over Noblesville on March 1. His energy on the glass will be critical for Mexico City to control the tempo.

Despite identical overall win totals, the Skyforce have a slight edge in recent form and hold a significant psychological advantage after Friday’s blowout. Interstat’s ELO system projects Sioux Falls with a 60.9% probability to win.

The Capitanes continue a lengthy road trip after this game, heading to Valley for two contests next week. The Skyforce will hit the road for a two-game set at South Bay starting Thursday.

Tip-off is set for Saturday night in Sioux Falls.
