College Park vs. Westchester

Preview: College Park Skyhawks at Westchester Knicks

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (Interstat) — Two teams riding positive momentum will meet for the second time in three days when the College Park Skyhawks visit the Westchester Knicks in a G League matchup Saturday at Westchester County Center.

The Skyhawks (15-29) have won three straight and four of their last five, including a 128-121 victory over these same Knicks on Thursday. The home-and-home set offers Westchester (12-32) a quick chance for redemption after letting a late lead slip in the previous meeting.

A key matchup will feature two of the league’s top performers. College Park forward Asa Newell has been dominant, averaging 21.6 points and 10.8 rebounds over his last five games. He posted 22 points and 10 rebounds in Thursday’s win. Westchester will counter with guard Kevin McCullar, who is coming off a 31-point, 11-assist performance in a win over Noblesville on March 15 and averaged 19.5 points and 7.5 assists in two games against the Mad Ants last weekend.

Despite their records, both teams have shown recent life. The Skyhawks’ surge includes an overtime win at Windy City and a 140-point outburst at Noblesville. The Knicks had won three of four before Thursday’s loss, with their offense averaging over 120 points per game in those victories.

College Park has won both meetings this season, also defeating Westchester 116-111 on Dec. 3. The Knicks will aim to leverage home court to snap that skid and halt the Skyhawks’ winning streak.

Saturday’s contest is the start of a busy stretch for both clubs. College Park begins a four-game road trip, while Westchester plays the first of three home games in seven days.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT.
