Delaware vs. Osceola
KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — The Osceola Magic used a dominant second-quarter surge to overcome a fast start by the Delaware Blue Coats and secure a 113-106 victory in a G League matchup Friday night at Silver Spurs Arena.
The game turned decisively in the second period. After a tightly contested first quarter that ended with Delaware leading 26-25, the Magic erupted for 33 points in the second frame. A key 16-2 run midway through the quarter, fueled by sharp outside shooting and transition play, allowed Osceola to seize control. The Magic connected on five 3-pointers in the quarter, transforming a narrow deficit into a 58-52 halftime advantage they would not relinquish.
Delaware, which had shown remarkable consistency by scoring 26 points in each of the first three quarters, could never fully recover from Osceola’s second-quarter explosion. The Blue Coats mounted several challenges, closing to within four points on multiple occasions in the fourth quarter, but each time the Magic had an answer. A critical sequence came with under two minutes to play when Osceola’s Alex Morales scored on a putback tip to extend the lead to six points, effectively sealing the game.
The Magic’s balanced attack and ability to capitalize on Delaware’s mistakes proved the difference. Osceola generated numerous second-chance opportunities and converted Delaware’s 18 turnovers into 28 points, a pivotal margin in the seven-point contest.
With the win, Osceola improved its season record to 31 wins and 15 losses, solidifying its position near the top of the league standings. Delaware, which entered the game on a high note after a 141-point offensive outburst in its previous contest, fell to 19-26.
The two teams are scheduled for a quick rematch at the same venue Saturday night.
