Noblesville vs. Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. (Interstat) — In a high-octane G League clash defined by offensive runs and resilient responses, the Greensboro Swarm held off a persistent Noblesville Boom squad for a 111-107 victory on Wednesday night at Greensboro Coliseum Fieldhouse.
The game’s most critical sequence unfolded in the final minutes, transforming a back-and-forth affair into a decisive Greensboro advantage. With the Swarm leading 102-101 and just over three minutes remaining, the Boom’s Samson Johnson committed a costly turnover, losing the ball to Terrell Brown. Greensboro capitalized immediately, as Antonio Reeves sank a 26-foot 3-pointer off Brown’s assist to push the lead to four.
After a Noblesville timeout, the Boom’s Keion Brooks answered with a 3-pointer to trim the deficit to 105-104. The ensuing possession, however, proved pivotal. Marcus Garrett drew a foul and missed the first free throw, but Greensboro retained possession after a scramble on the second miss. The Swarm then executed a patient offensive set, resulting in a driving layup by Jaylen Sims to extend the lead to 107-104.
Noblesville’s next trip ended in another turnover, this time by Johnson on an offensive foul. Greensboro’s following possession was a masterclass in offensive rebounding, securing four consecutive chances before P.J. Hall finally converted a putback layup to give the Swarm a 109-104 cushion with just over two minutes to play. The Boom could not recover from that five-point deficit, as both teams traded baskets before time expired.
The contest featured relentless pace from the opening tip. Noblesville’s Dakota Mathias and Cameron Hildreth provided early scoring punch, while Greensboro’s interior duo of Hall and Tosan Evbuomwan consistently found success. The first quarter alone saw 71 combined points, with Greensboro holding a slim 35-36 edge.
Greensboro built its largest lead in the second quarter, using a 13-4 run to go ahead by nine points. The Boom responded behind Mathias and Omar El-Sheikh to stay within striking distance, trailing 61-57 at halftime.
The third quarter continued the pattern of surges. The Swarm opened with a 9-2 spurt to take an 11-point lead, their largest of the night to that point. Yet again, Noblesville clawed back, closing the period on a 12-4 run capped by a RJ Felton 3-pointer to enter the fourth quarter down just 89-84.
The final period saw eight lead changes and two ties as neither team led by more than five points until the Swarm’s decisive final push. Mathias led all scorers for Noblesville, while Hildreth facilitated the offense with key assists. For Greensboro, Hall anchored the paint and Evbuomwan provided versatile production, with Sims and Reeves hitting crucial shots from the perimeter.
With the win, Greensboro improved its season record to 33 wins and 13 losses, solidifying its position among the league’s top teams. Noblesville, competitive throughout against a heavily favored opponent, fell to 20 wins and 27 losses. The Swarm’s ability to secure multiple offensive rebounds and force critical turnovers in the game’s closing moments was the definitive difference in a contest otherwise marked by remarkable offensive efficiency and tenacity from both sides.
