Noblesville vs. Greensboro
Preview: Noblesville Boom at Greensboro Swarm
GREENSBORO, N.C. (Interstat) — A surging Greensboro Swarm hosts a struggling Noblesville Boom in a G League matchup Wednesday night at Greensboro Coliseum Fieldhouse.
The Swarm (32-13) enter as one of the league’s top teams, having won five of their last six games. They are coming off a 127-120 home victory over Osceola on March 13, led by a dominant performance from center P.J. Hall. Hall, a key player to watch, posted 30 points and 14 rebounds in that win and has been a consistent force, recording a double-double in eight of his last nine contests.
In stark contrast, the visiting Boom (20-26) have lost seven of their last 10 games and are looking to halt a two-game skid. They fell 120-110 to Westchester on Sunday despite a 28-point effort from forward Dakota Mathias. Mathias remains the Boom’s primary offensive threat, averaging over 25 points per game in his last five outings, including a triple-double (31 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists) in a win over Westchester on March 14.
The matchup in the paint between Noblesville’s Mathias and Greensboro’s Hall will be critical. While Mathias provides high-volume scoring from the perimeter and wing, Hall’s interior presence as a scorer and rebounder has powered the Swarm’s success. Greensboro’s defense, which held Delaware to 98 points in a blowout win on March 10, will aim to contain Mathias and a Boom offense that has allowed 135 or more points in three of its last five losses.
Greensboro has been strong at home, while Noblesville has struggled on the road, including recent losses at Motor City and Mexico City. The Swarm won the previous meeting between the teams this season, 119-108, in Noblesville on Jan. 15.
Following this game, the Boom return home to host Austin on Friday. The Swarm begin a two-game road trip at Westchester on Sunday.
