Windy City vs. Capital City

Preview: Windy City Bulls at Capital City Go-Go

WASHINGTON (Interstat) — Two teams jockeying for position in the G League’s Eastern Conference will meet Wednesday when the Windy City Bulls face the Capital City Go-Go at CareFirst Arena.

Both teams enter with identical 22-23 records across all competitions, making the matchup pivotal for the standings. The game is the first of a two-game set, with a rematch scheduled for Friday at the same venue.

Windy City arrives riding a three-game winning streak, including a dramatic 116-115 home victory over Wisconsin on Monday. Forward Kevin Knox is in the midst of a torrid scoring stretch, averaging 31.3 points over his last three contests. He erupted for 40 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in 41 minutes against Wisconsin. He is complemented by guard Mac McClung, who scored 36 points Monday, and center Giorgi Bezhanishvili, who recorded a 14-point, 15-rebound double-double.

Capital City is also coming off a high-scoring win, defeating Santa Cruz 137-130 on Tuesday. The Go-Go are led by guard Kadary Richmond, a versatile playmaker who has tallied two triple-doubles in his last five games. In a March 5 win at Grand Rapids, Richmond posted 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. His ability to impact all phases of the game will be central to Capital City’s plan.

The season series adds another layer, as the Bulls won the previous meeting 112-104 on Feb. 24 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Knox was limited to four points in that contest, while Richmond scored 11 for the Go-Go.

With both teams averaging over 115 points per game in recent outings, a fast-paced, offensive showdown is anticipated. The result could provide crucial momentum for the back half of the home-and-home set and the final push of the regular season.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EDT.
