Motor City vs. Raptors 905
Cruise Visit Raptors 905 in Key G League Clash
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (Interstat) — The surging Motor City Cruise will look to avenge a recent loss when they visit the league-leading Raptors 905 in a G League matchup Tuesday night at Hershey Centre.
The Cruise (23-20) enter on a three-game winning streak, including a 135-128 victory over Noblesville on Wednesday. They face a formidable challenge in Raptors 905 (33-12), who won the previous meeting 112-99 on Feb. 8 and are coming off a 124-120 road win at Westchester on Thursday.
Motor City will rely on center Tolu Smith, who is averaging 22.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists over his last three games. He posted 27 points and 12 rebounds in the last win over Noblesville.
Raptors 905 counter with wing A.J. Lawson, who scored 28 points in the win over Westchester. He has been a consistent offensive force, scoring 20 or more points in five of his last nine contests.
The Cruise have found an offensive rhythm, scoring 135 points in each of their last two games. Isaac Jones (26 points) and Drew Peterson (19 points, 11 assists) were key contributors alongside Smith in the latest victory.
Raptors 905, who also got 22 points from Jarkel Joiner and 20 from Quincy Guerrier against Westchester, boast the superior record but have shown recent vulnerability, dropping three of five games before their current two-game win streak.
Tuesday’s contest is the first of a two-game road trip for Motor City, which visits Wisconsin on Friday. Raptors 905 embark on a three-game Western Conference road swing starting Friday at Rip City.
