Westchester vs. Noblesville
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (Interstat) — The Noblesville Boom unleashed a historic offensive barrage in the second quarter to pull away from the Westchester Knicks and cruise to a 141-115 victory in a G League matchup Saturday night at the Arena at Innovation Mile.
The game transformed from a competitive first-quarter shootout into a one-sided affair thanks to a dominant 40-point second period by the home team. After the opening quarter ended tied at 28, Noblesville seized control with a staggering 40-24 advantage in the frame, building a 68-52 halftime lead from which Westchester never recovered.
The Boom’s offensive execution was relentless and efficient throughout the period, spearheaded by point guard Dakota Mathias, who orchestrated the attack with precision passing and timely scoring. The quarter featured a decisive 16-4 run that stretched a narrow lead into a commanding double-digit advantage. Key plays included a driving layup by Keion Brooks, a three-pointer from Mathias, and a series of finishes at the rim by center Samson Johnson, who served as a constant lob threat and interior presence.
Westchester, which fell to 11-31 with the loss, showed flashes of offensive capability, particularly from forward Pacome Dadiet, but could not match Noblesville’s sustained firepower or generate consistent defensive stops. The Knicks’ attempts to mount a comeback in the second half were repeatedly stymied by the Boom’s ability to answer every run with a scoring burst of their own.
Noblesville, now 20-25, maintained its offensive momentum after halftime, scoring 30 points in the third quarter and a game-high 43 in the fourth to secure the win. The Boom’s ball movement and shot-making were superior, as they consistently found open looks against a porous Westchester defense.
The most important part of the game was unequivocally the second quarter. That 12-minute stretch was the turning point where Noblesville shifted from engaged in a tight contest to firmly in command. The 40-point explosion, which represented the highest-scoring quarter for either team in the game, demoralized Westchester and established a tempo that favored the Boom’s high-octane attack for the remainder of the night. It showcased Noblesville’s offensive ceiling when its shooters are hot and its playmakers are in rhythm, effectively deciding the contest long before the final buzzer.
The two teams are scheduled for a quick rematch at the same venue Sunday.
