Preview: Stockton Kings at Sioux Falls Skyforce

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Interstat) — The surging Sioux Falls Skyforce will look to build on a recent home victory over the Stockton Kings when the G League Western Conference rivals meet again Friday night at the Sanford Pentagon.

The Skyforce (24-20) defeated the visiting Kings 95-82 just two days prior, on Wednesday. Sioux Falls has won four of its last six games overall.

Stockton (26-14), which holds one of the conference’s top records, aims to rebound from that loss and a 127-119 overtime defeat to Birmingham on Sunday. The Kings had won seven of eight prior to this two-game skid.

A key matchup will feature Stockton guard Jameer Nelson against Sioux Falls forward Dain Dainja. Nelson is coming off a 26-point, six-rebound performance in the overtime loss to Birmingham. Dainja has been a force for the Skyforce, posting double-doubles in four of his last five games. He logged 25 points and 12 rebounds in a narrow 119-118 loss to Austin on Sunday, following a 20-point, 11-rebound effort in a win over Austin the night before.

In Wednesday’s head-to-head win, Sioux Falls held Stockton to a season-low in points. Containing Nelson and improving offensive efficiency will be critical for the Kings’ chances on the road.

The season series now shifts to this quick rematch, with Stockton looking to even the score and Sioux Falls seeking a consecutive home win to solidify its playoff positioning.

Friday’s contest tips off at 7 p.m. local time.
