Delaware vs. Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Interstat) — The Greensboro Swarm used a dominant first half to secure a 136-116 victory over the Delaware Blue Coats in a G League matchup Wednesday night at Greensboro Coliseum Fieldhouse.

The Swarm, improving to 31-13, built an insurmountable lead by halftime, outscoring the Blue Coats 77-54 over the first two quarters. Greensboro’s offensive outburst was led by a 43-point second quarter that effectively decided the contest.

Delaware, which fell to 18-24, could not recover from the early deficit despite a more competitive second half where they were outscored by only four points. The Blue Coats have now lost three straight games, including a 140-98 defeat to the same Swarm team just one day prior.

The most pivotal sequence of the game occurred late in the first quarter and throughout the second, when Greensboro seized complete control. After Delaware’s Drew Cisse converted an alley-oop to bring the Blue Coats within 21-20 with 5:44 left in the opening period, the Swarm closed the quarter on a 13-2 run. Greensboro then opened the second quarter with relentless efficiency, stretching their lead to 30 points at its peak. The Swarm shot a blistering 63 percent from the field in the first half, while Delaware managed just 41 percent shooting and committed 11 turnovers that led to 18 Greensboro points.

P.J. Hall anchored the Swarm’s interior play, contributing across the board with key rebounds, assists and defensive plays. His frontcourt partner, Jaylen Sims, provided consistent scoring and playmaking, while guard Antonio Reeves caught fire from the perimeter to fuel the explosive second-quarter run.

For Delaware, Malcolm Hill shouldered the offensive load, attacking the basket and drawing fouls to lead his team in scoring. Aminu Mohammed provided energy off the bench with several aggressive drives to the hoop, and Saint Thomas facilitated the offense with a team-high assist total.

The Swarm’s ball movement and shot creation proved superior, as they recorded 34 assists on 52 made field goals. Delaware, by contrast, managed only 23 assists and was forced into 21 total turnovers, which Greensboro converted into 31 points.

The victory extends Greensboro’s home winning streak and solidifies their position near the top of the G League standings. Delaware will look to halt its skid when it returns home to face Oklahoma City on Friday. Greensboro hosts Osceola the same night.
