Delaware vs. Greensboro

Preview: Blue Coats Face Swarm in G League Showdown

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Interstat) — The Delaware Blue Coats look to snap a two-game skid and reverse recent history against the Greensboro Swarm when the G League teams meet Wednesday night at Greensboro Coliseum Fieldhouse.

The Swarm (29-13), one of the league’s top teams, have dominated the season series, winning all three matchups. Most recently, Greensboro held Delaware to a season-low 64 points in a 73-64 victory just one day prior on Tuesday. The Swarm also won two high-scoring affairs in November.

Delaware (18-22) enters on the heels of a 137-113 road loss to Raptors 905 on Sunday. The Blue Coats have lost four of their last six games.

A key matchup will feature Delaware’s high-scoring wing Teddy Allen against Greensboro’s dominant big man P.J. Hall. Allen is coming off a 28-point, 6-rebound performance in the loss to Raptors 905 and has averaged 22.2 points over his last five games where he played at least 25 minutes.

Hall has been a force for Greensboro, recording a double-double in six consecutive games. In Saturday’s 133-118 loss to Motor City, the center posted 32 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Over his last five contests, Hall is averaging 20.8 points and 13.6 rebounds.

Greensboro has hit a rare rough patch, losing three straight after a five-game winning streak. Their defense, however, was stifling in Tuesday’s win over Delaware.

The Blue Coats will need more offensive production beyond Allen to challenge the Swarm on the road. DeAndre Williams (18 points Sunday) and Saint Thomas (12 points, 5 assists) are among those who must contribute.

Following this game, Delaware returns home to host Oklahoma City on Friday. Greensboro remains at home to face Osceola on Friday.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EDT Wednesday.
