Maine vs. Osceola

Preview: Maine Celtics at Osceola Magic

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Interstat) — The Osceola Magic will look to continue their dominance over the Maine Celtics when the G League teams meet again Tuesday at Silver Spurs Arena, just three days after a lopsided first encounter.

The Magic (27-13) routed the visiting Celtics 134-103 on Sunday, showcasing the gap between one of the league’s top teams and a Maine squad hovering near .500 at 22-21. The quick rematch offers the Celtics an immediate chance for redemption.

Osceola has established itself as a force in the standings, winning eight of its last 12 games. Forward Alex Morales has been a consistent catalyst, averaging a near triple-double of 16.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.7 assists over his last seven contests. His 20-point, 12-rebound, five-assist performance in an overtime win against Sioux Falls last Tuesday epitomizes his all-around impact.

Maine, coming off a split of a two-game set with Windy City, will lean on guard Keon Johnson. He is coming off a strong performance, posting 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a win over Windy City on March 1 before a quieter outing in Sunday’s loss to Osceola.

The Celtics’ recent form has been uneven, with a 4-6 record over their last 10 games. Their defense will be under scrutiny after yielding 134 points to the Magic’s efficient attack.

For Osceola, the schedule offers little respite. Following Tuesday’s game, they host Wisconsin on Wednesday before embarking on a road trip. Maine continues a lengthy road stretch, with this game being the second of six straight away from home before returning to Portland on March 13.

Tuesday’s tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EDT at Silver Spurs Arena.
