Delaware vs. Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Interstat) — The Greensboro Swarm unleashed a dominant second-half performance to pull away from the Delaware Blue Coats for a 140-98 victory in a G League game Tuesday night at Greensboro Coliseum Fieldhouse.

The game was a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair for the first 20 minutes, with both teams trading baskets and ending the first quarter tied at 37. Delaware, behind a strong start from Teddy Allen, managed to keep pace early, but the Swarm’s depth and offensive firepower proved overwhelming as the night progressed.

Greensboro began to seize control late in the second quarter, closing the half on a 15-4 run to take a 73-64 lead into the break. The Swarm then delivered a decisive knockout blow in the third quarter, outscoring the Blue Coats 39-17. A relentless offensive barrage, featuring a mix of interior scoring and perimeter shooting, stretched the lead to 31 points and effectively ended the contest.

The most important part of the game was Greensboro’s third-quarter surge, which transformed a competitive game into a lopsided affair. The Swarm shot efficiently from the field during the period and capitalized on a series of Delaware turnovers and missed shots, holding the Blue Coats to their lowest scoring quarter of the night while putting up 39 points of their own.

Jaylen Sims led all scorers for Greensboro, pouring in 31 points on 11-of-18 shooting in just 25 minutes, adding four rebounds and four assists. Center P.J. Hall recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds, complementing his scoring with four blocked shots. The Swarm’s ball movement was exceptional, with Terrell Brown dishing out nine assists and the team totaling 34 assists on 52 made field goals.

For Delaware, Teddy Allen shouldered the offensive load with 24 points and six rebounds. No other Blue Coat scored more than 12 points. The team struggled to find consistent offense outside of Allen, particularly after halftime, and was unable to match Greensboro’s scoring pace.

The Swarm improved their season record to 30 wins and 13 losses, solidifying their position near the top of the league standings. The Blue Coats fell to 18-23 with the loss.

The two teams are scheduled for a quick rematch Wednesday night at the same venue.
