Delaware vs. Greensboro
GREENSBORO, N.C. (Interstat) — The surging Greensboro Swarm will look to maintain their hold on the G League’s upper tier when they host the struggling Delaware Blue Coats on Tuesday night at Greensboro Coliseum Fieldhouse.
The Swarm (29-13), among the league’s elite this season, have dropped three straight but remain a formidable force, especially on their home floor. They will be heavily favored against a Delaware squad that sits at 18-22 and is coming off a 137-113 road loss to Raptors 905 on Sunday.
Greensboro swept the two-game season series in November, winning 133-126 and 145-129 in Delaware. The Swarm’s success has been fueled by dominant interior play, notably from center P.J. Hall. The big man is averaging a double-double and is fresh off a 32-point, 13-rebound, 4-block performance in Saturday’s loss to Motor City. Over his last six games, Hall has recorded five double-doubles, including a 27-point, 19-rebound outing on Feb. 28.
Delaware’s hopes will rest largely on the playmaking of guard Kennedy Chandler. The floor general is coming off a stellar stretch, posting back-to-back 10-assist games and scoring 34 and 25 points in his last two outings, respectively. Chandler’s ability to control tempo and create offense will be critical for a Blue Coats team that has lost four of its last six.
The matchup pits Greensboro’s consistent, high-performing roster against a Delaware team reliant on Chandler’s explosive, but sometimes inconsistent, performances. The Swarm will aim to exploit their significant advantage in the standings and recent head-to-head history, while the Blue Coats seek an upset to stabilize their season ahead of a lengthy road stretch. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EDT.
