Austin vs. Sioux Falls
Preview: Austin Spurs at Sioux Falls Skyforce
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Interstat) — The Austin Spurs, owners of the G League’s best record, conclude a two-game road set against the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Sunday at the Sanford Pentagon.
Austin (28-11) narrowly defeated the Skyforce 113-110 on Saturday night. The Spurs have won seven of their last 10 games and are led by guard Jayden Nunn, who is coming off a dominant 30-point, 13-rebound, 7-assist performance in a win over Memphis on March 1. Over his last eight games, Nunn is averaging 16.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
Sioux Falls (23-19) looks to salvage a series split after Saturday’s loss. The Skyforce had won three of four prior, including a 119-82 road rout of Memphis on Thursday. In that victory, center Vladislav Goldin posted 16 points and 13 rebounds in just 20 minutes. The 7-foot-1 big man has recorded double-doubles in two of his last three appearances and leads the team in rebounding.
The Spurs’ high-powered offense, which has scored 120 or more points in five of its last eight outings, will test a Sioux Falls defense that has been inconsistent. The Skyforce have allowed 113 points or fewer in three of their last four wins but gave up 116 or more in three recent losses.
Austin holds a significant edge in the standings, but the teams have split their two meetings this season. Sunday’s matinee tips off at 2 p.m. local time.
For Austin, the game is the start of a busy stretch with nine games in 20 days. Sioux Falls begins a four-game homestand before a West Coast road trip later this month.
