Austin vs. Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Interstat) — The surging Austin Spurs, owners of the G League’s best record, face a potent Sioux Falls Skyforce squad led by a red-hot Josh Christopher in a weekend matchup at the Sanford Pentagon on Saturday.
Austin (28-11) enters on a two-game win streak following a 121-118 victory over Memphis last Sunday. The Spurs have won seven of their last ten, showcasing a balanced attack. Guard Jayden Nunn is coming off a dominant performance, posting 30 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists against Memphis. Over his last ten games, Nunn is averaging 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
The Sioux Falls Skyforce (22-19), however, present a formidable challenge, particularly on their home floor. They are powered by the explosive scoring of wing Josh Christopher, who is averaging 30.6 points over his last seven contests. Christopher erupted for 49 points in a win over Osceola on March 1 and dropped 44 points in another outing just three weeks prior. His dynamic playmaking will be central to the Skyforce’s hopes for an upset.
The season series is tied, with each team winning on the other’s court earlier this year. Austin won 124-112 in Sioux Falls on Jan. 17, while the Skyforce returned the favor with a 119-113 victory in Austin on Jan. 26.
This game features a clash of styles: Austin’s consistent, winning formula against Sioux Falls’ high-octane, star-driven offense. Containing Christopher will be the primary defensive task for the Spurs, while the Skyforce must find answers for Austin’s depth and league-leading execution.
The two teams will meet again at the same venue on Sunday, making this a critical back-to-back set for Western Conference positioning. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CST Saturday.
