Mexico City vs. Wisconsin
Preview: Capitanes Visit Herd in G League Showdown
OSHKOSH, Wis. (Interstat) — A surging Mexico City Capitanes squad will face a struggling Wisconsin Herd team when the G League clubs meet at Oshkosh Arena on Friday, March 6, 2026.
The Capitanes (23-16) enter on a hot streak, having won four of their last five games, including a 122-110 victory over Noblesville on Tuesday. Mexico City’s offense has been potent, scoring 120 or more points in three of those contests.
Mexico City is led by forward Andersson Garcia, who has been a dominant force on the boards. In his last six games, Garcia has averaged a double-double, including a 20-rebound, 10-point performance against Noblesville. Over that stretch, he has recorded five double-doubles, underscoring his consistency. Garcia, along with guards Wade Taylor and R.J. Melendez, who combined for 43 points in the last outing, will challenge the Herd defense.
Conversely, the Wisconsin Herd (12-28) seeks to build on a rare recent highlight—a 134-126 road win over Memphis on Feb. 27. That victory snapped a four-game losing skid, but the Herd have lost 10 of their last 13 games overall. Defense has been a persistent issue, as Wisconsin has allowed 112 or more points in 11 of those 13 contests.
The teams will complete a back-to-back set in Oshkosh on Saturday, marking the first of two meetings in less than 24 hours. For the Herd, this homestand represents a critical opportunity to gain ground, while the Capitanes aim to solidify their playoff positioning with a successful road trip.
Friday’s matchup pits one of the league’s hottest teams against one seeking stability. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST at Oshkosh Arena.
